Info/FAQ

Entry & Exit

15 years, 100's of Fake-Fests… we run smooth as Barry White on valentines night.

You're excited, thirsty, and can’t wait to meet your mates! Don’t worry, for speed and security we have a simple 3-step entry. Arrive whatever time you are ready.

1. Ticket scan

Printed paper tickets If the tickets are printed onto paper, then simply give each person their own ticket so that they can have the barcode scanned and then enter with ease.

Tickets on your phone If the tickets (or eTicket email) are held on your phone, then we will need to scan each barcode off your phone screen. Everyone who has their ticket stored on your phone will need to be with you. If your phone holds a ticket for somebody arriving later, you can pop out when they arrive and get the barcode scanned with them.

2. Wristband application

Next, we will apply your access wristband so that you can come and go during the event. Do not remove the wristband until the event has finished.

Bring “proof of age” ID. We operate the Challenge 25 scheme, so if you’re lucky enough to look below 25yrs you will be asked to provide an acceptable form of ID to verify your age. If you can’t prove your age, you will receive a Young wristband and will not be able to buy alcoholic drinks at the bar.
3. Security search

Finally, there will be both male and female security staff carrying out appropriate searches. Everybody attending the festival has to be searched and anybody refusing a search will not be allowed entry. Bags and pockets will be searched for anything that could be concealed.

There is no limit on the size of bags, but they will all be searched. Our security team are super friendly and approachable - they are there to keep everyone safe and to make sure that everyone is sticking to the rules. If you have any questions, please just ask - they will be more than happy to help.

Food and drink
Each person can bring 1x sealed bottle of water, maximum 500ml. Other than that, NO FOOD OR DRINK can be brought into the event.

We have a range of food traders outside in the garden area and we ask that they all provide vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free items where possible.

If you or your child have special dietary requirements, allergies or food intolerances that you can prove, bring your documentation (such as a doctors or consultants letter) with you to show security when you enter the festival for the first time, as you may be allowed through with your own food (within reason - no banquets please!). Please be aware that, as usual, other festival goers are not allowed to bring food and we would very much appreciate your discretion whilst consuming.

When you first enter the event we provide you with an access wristband, so you could leave and cater for your food needs outside the festival, and come back when you are ready. But if you picnic in the surrounding area, use it as a ‘personal bar’ and continually re-enter the festival after replenishing yourself with alcohol, then security will refuse further entry as we will deem you to have been ‘preloading’.

Umbrellas

Yes, you can bring an umbrella, ella ella a a a...

Gazebos, chairs and blankets

Some tables and chairs are provided outside, but you can bring your own chairs and rugs for use in the outside area. Chairs or rugs are not allowed inside the marquee at any time.

Gazebos and pop-up tents are ok, but must not be larger than 3M x 3M. Only one per group – position at the rear of the garden area next to fencing and secure to the ground. Please remove before the end of the event.

Cameras

You can bring a camera. If it’s a professional rig and you're photographing the event, please contact us via for press/media access. Please refrain from photographing children that are not within your group.

Sorry, no dogs or pets of any type are allowed (including our outside/garden area), no matter how cute or well behaved they are!

Only registered assistance dogs are able to attend. Please check our Accessibility page for further info.

You can arrive at whatever time suits you - but don’t leave it to late and miss all the fun! We’ll give you an access wristband to wear for the duration of the event. Leave the event whenever you like and simply show your wristband to re-enter, within reason. So ya gotta let me know... should I stay or should I go?

Car parking is NOT provided. Fake Festival 1-day events are held within local community spaces, such as parks and sports grounds, so most people walk up. Let your hair down, have a beer and a nice walk home.

Please respect local residents if you choose to park near housing. We pack up and leave the site immediately after the event ends, so please do not leave your car on-site, or obstruct any of the site entrances.

For disabled parking, see the Accessibility page for more info.

Food & Drink

Enjoy (responsibly) with a few beers and a slice of pizza.

We run our own well-stocked "fast-serve" licensed bar inside the tent, that sells both bar (alcohol) and soft drinks. Bar drinks are chilled - we really look after your drinks as they are such an important part of your experience.

Drinking water is also available for free at the bar.

Drink Tokens

For speed at the bar, we use a Drink Token scheme at all Fake Festivals. Buy them with cash or card from the token desk (next to the bar), then exchange them at the bar for drinks. One token gets you a single bar drink (alcohol) or two soft drinks (Coke, Fanta, etc).

Drink Tokens cost £5.00 each.
Drink Tokens are non-refundable and can only be used at the event they were issued. Only purchase what you intend on consuming.

A variety of food traders will be situated outside in the secure garden area. Traders are independent, but we do ask that they keep their prices reasonable and in line with Fake Festivals tickets and bar prices.

You can expect to see traders such as your classic burger, wood fired pizza, Greek salads and wraps, Chinese noodles, Indian curry and 'pie & mash'. Not forgetting the all important sweet treat - crepes or donuts and of course hot drinks - tea and coffee etc. There is also always an ice-cream van for the classic 99!

The food traders cannot guarantee to cater for all special dietary requirements, lifestyle choices (vegan etc) or those with allergies or food intolerances. Please ask the individual food traders for information.

Food traders may also sell drinks, such as tea and coffee. Most traders except card payments, but it cannot be guaranteed.

If you are a Food Trader and want to trade at this event, please see our Traders page.

General info

If you dare contact us without reading this info first, the headline band gets cut!

We provide a safe and secure environment at the festivals and our zero tolerance approach is backed up by an experienced and professional security team.

However, it is still the responsibility of parents to maintain the the welfare of their children and we expect under 16 year olds to be accompanied an adult at all times.

We also provide a dedicated medical room that is staffed by trained first-aiders.

Strobes, lasers, smoke machines and other effects may be used at the events, without warning. Anyone affected by these should bear this in mind.

Giant marquee

The giant marquee contains the entire stage, audience and bar area.

Secured garden area

You can leave the marquee to the secure garden area whenever you like. Expect to find tables and chairs, traders and toilets. Adult and child entertainment may also be available, weather permitting.

Inflatables & games

We have a range of inflatables and games that will be available, weather permitting. These are for both kids and adults. They usually include things like inflatable slides, rodeo bull, giant football dartboard - who can get the highest score?! Hang tough - win prizes if you get the longest time! Please note, these aren’t included in your ticket and there is a cost.

Festival glitter

At each festival we have a festival glitter and face painting stand. Can’t beat a good glitter beard!

Toilets

We make a big effort to provide you with clean toilets at the festivals, and convenient urinals for the guys. We always have disabled toilet too.

The toilets are outside in the secure garden area.

At the events we do take provide jobs for people primarily from the local area. To apply to work as part of our staff team please see our Staff Jobs page.

Please note: we do not provide volunteering options at any of our events.

All Fake Festival performances are held inside a giant marquee (tent) that holds the stage, audience and bar, so the weather shouldn’t affect it too much. In fact, rainy fake-fests have a quite an atmosphere inside!

We don't use flooring at the festivals, so if the weather has been wet, the grass can get a little muddy around the entrances. Please wear appropriate footwear.

We would only cancel the event under extreme conditions and we would say so on the event's website page and email everyone who has bought a ticket.

As this is a single-day UK Tour event, held at a local community location, we do not provide a campsite.

At Fake Festivals, we are constantly reviewing the environmental impact of our events.

Please see our Policies page for further details.

Near the bar you will find our merch for sale. Using tokens you can grab yourself a Fake-Fest tee, hoodie or bag! Maybe some sunglasses or a bobble hat - who knows with the Great British weather - we’ve got you covered (literally!)

At Fake Festivals, we believe our events should be accessible for everyone to enjoy. Please see our dedicated Accessibility page for full details of the access support that we provide.
